Summary:

It is good practice to send any spam/suspicious emails to Helpdesk, even ones that you are uncertain of, to add into the organizations spam filter. However, it may become a nuisance If spam emails keep finding their way into your inbox. Blocking senders in Outlook is a feature that can prevent spam email from entering your inbox folder.



Blocking Senders in Outlook

  1. Right-Click message from the send, that you want to block.
  2. Click Junk, then click Block Sender*
  3. Then click OK when prompted.


*Note: The blocked person can still send emails to you, but anything from his/her email address will immediately make its way to the Junk Email folder.



Unblocking Senders in Outlook

If you find that you mistakenly blocked a user or sender, you can unblock him/her following these steps:

  1. In Outlook go to your Home tabs, then Junk to drop down the menu.
  2. Select Junk E-mail Options.
  3. Under Blocked Senders tab.
  4. Select emails, that you want unblocked, then click Remove
  5. Click Ok or Apply to save changes.
