Summary:
It is good practice to send any spam/suspicious emails to Helpdesk, even ones that you are uncertain of, to add into the organizations spam filter. However, it may become a nuisance If spam emails keep finding their way into your inbox. Blocking senders in Outlook is a feature that can prevent spam email from entering your inbox folder.
Blocking Senders in Outlook
- Right-Click message from the send, that you want to block.
- Click Junk, then click Block Sender*
- Then click OK when prompted.
*Note: The blocked person can still send emails to you, but anything from his/her email address will immediately make its way to the Junk Email folder.
Unblocking Senders in Outlook
If you find that you mistakenly blocked a user or sender, you can unblock him/her following these steps:
- In Outlook go to your Home tabs, then Junk to drop down the menu.
- Select Junk E-mail Options.
- Under Blocked Senders tab.
- Select emails, that you want unblocked, then click Remove
- Click Ok or Apply to save changes.
