The Surface Docking Stations give users the ease to quickly connect to or add connectivity options to their computer. The docking stations features its own internal chipset which lets Microsoft release firmware updates to fix or patch issues that may lead to overall problems in the docks functionality.
Download the Dock Updater Tool
To update the dock, you must first download and install Microsoft Surface Dock Updater following the steps below:
1. Follow the link to the download webpage.

2. Click on Download.
4. Then click Next
Updating Docking Station
Once you have downloaded and installed Microsoft Surface Dock Updater you are now able to update the docking station by following the prompts given by the application. The process is straight forward and requires you to unplug and plug the dock from your computer multiple times.
