What is the Professional Development benefit?
Prosperity Now currently offers each employee up to $1,000 to spend toward professional development each calendar year. This amount is prorated for new hires based on start date.
There are many ways that you may use the funds including workshops, membership fees, conferences, books, classes.
How do I use it?
- Discuss the professional development opportunity with your supervisor in the context of your performance goals and personal growth.
- Complete the Professional Development Request form (attached) and submit your supervisor for approval.
- Submit your completed form AND supporting documentation to Human Resources.
- The HR team will review and coordinate payment options with you.
Please note the following:
- Professional developments do not rollover from year-to-year.
- The professional development activity will be charged against the year in which the activity occurs.
- The cutoff for processing professional development requests each year is December 15th.
What are the payment options?

3. Personal Reimbursement - Supervisor AND HR approval required prior to submission of a reimbursement request
I've completed the activity. Is there anything else to do (i.e. report back)?
Yes! Please complete the Professional Development Event Report for all classes, conferences, seminars, and workshops. Due to the diverse needs of our staff, your feedback is helpful in ensuring we can offer the most enriching and effective opportunities. The Event Report is also useful in turning activities into action items to support growth and development.
